I have read all of your books and am reading saints now its been a hard read for me because of some personal issues involving my son but its really helped me understand a bunch of stuff

Nickie

/ November 13, 2011Thanks Nickie! Once you get going in this genre, it’s hard to stop!
I’m really glad you’re enjoying the books!

/ October 11, 2011Hi Marie,
I read one part of you book promises and I realized that it is a great book, I’m not gay but I guess it realy describes a great love between two people. I am a native Spanish speaker and I’d love to translate your book into Spanish, I guess it would be really good for it and lot of Latinos would love to read something like that.
Please, think about this and let me know what you think!

/ October 17, 2011Thanks Dan! Glad you liked Promises. I’d have to check with my publisher about foreign language rights before proceeding with anything like that.
Thanks!

/ August 30, 2011Hi Marie,
I love your books – all of them. I am from Austria and I would love it, if one day your books could get translated into german.
I have a personal question for you: Has it been been difficult for you writing m/m romances, instead of conventional books? I assume its not every day you have to explain to your mum, that your are writing an erotic m/m romance novel.
I’m looking forward to reading your next book, Verena
Marie Sexton
/ August 31, 2011Thanks Verena! I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed my books so far.
When I was first published, I found it difficult to tell people what I wrote, but I’m getting used to it now. It’s kind of fun to see the stunned expressions on some faces, and the incredibly intrigued expressions on others. Most of my family and friends are incredibly supportive, although my mother does still ask on a regular basis if I’m ever going to write a “real” book.

/ August 16, 2011Hey Marie,
I read Between Sinners and Saints and, as usual, liked it. While waiting for my checking account to recharge (don’t we all do that these days?) I picked through some books I read before: Nick Nolan, Charlie Cochrane, AKM Miles….then I found my copy of Promises. It is so well done; packed with humor, flame, angst and hot sex to keep everyone involved in the read. That you so much for wonderful characters and stories we can care about, be involved with emotionally, and enjoy.
I’ll look for my copy of A to Z to re-read….
Hugs,
Mike

/ August 12, 2011Hello Marie,
I recently finished reading Between Sinners and Saints -and- Strawberries for Dessert. Both were terrific reads! Between Sinners and Saints was truly touching reading on about Jaime and how he interacted with Levi’s conservative family. Even the part towards the end where Jaime speaks directly with Abraham was well done. I read Strawberries for Dessert right after that. I always had wondered what happened with Cole. This book went into the depth of his character quite well where over time his carefully guarded walls came down. Johnathan truly became his salvation. Marie, I have read hundreds upon hundreds of M/M stories. Yours are quite memorable. You truly are a gifted writer and I look forward to reading more of your stories. Regards, MZ
Marie Sexton
/ August 14, 2011Thanks very much, Michael! I appreciate that!

/ August 4, 2011Just read Paris A to Z and at the end of the book discovered that I missed Strawberris for Dessert. Have now read that as well. I spent most of the last part of the bgook wiping my eyes. What as great story Love all your guys. I now understand the fruitcake for dessert after the wedding. Another funny thing is that I drink Arbor Mist wines. Keep up the great work. Fondly, Larry
Marie Sexton
/ August 4, 2011Thanks for your comment, Larry! I’m so glad you enjoyed Paris and SfD. And now you can think of Cole next time you have a glass of Arbor Mist.

/ July 30, 2011Just finished “Between Saints and Sinners” and found it stunning. I thought “Promises” was truly remarkable but this is even better. Few are the authors in this genre who bring nobility of character into their books so I’m extremely grateful for what you’ve accomplished. May you live many, many more decades and may all of them be prolific.
Marie Sexton
/ July 31, 2011Thanks so much, Stan. I appreciate that very much, and I’m so glad you enjoyed Between Sinners and Saints.

/ June 25, 2011No problem. I am trying to think of other ways to promote you (don’t be alarmed, I’m not crazy–just love your books). Ward’s board has 11,000 members but a small portion of active posters…hopefully some subset of them will try your books.
I am a big Potter fan!
Have a friend who works for Disney in Orlando…she got to hang with the cast when they visited Potterworld. I hope you had a nice butterbeer LOL.
Take care and safe travels.

/ June 25, 2011Holy cow, thanks! I appreciate the promotion!
We’re actually heading back to Colorado today, but we we had a fabulous vacation – several days just hanging out on the beach, and then two days at Universal Studios. We spent both at Islands of Adventure. Hubby and kiddo are both big Dr Seuss fans, and I myself am a raging Harry Potter fangirl. I practically had tears in my eyes when I wandered into Hogsmeade. It was amazing!
Starting tomorrow it’s loads of laundry, and then back to my regularly-scheduled life. LOL. maybe I’ll even get back to writing eventually.
Thanks again!

/ June 3, 2011I love your stories. I was just curious as to why you chose to publish Between Sinners and Saints with Amber Allure Press instead of Dreamspinner Press? Now that you’ve tried the two, do you have a preference? What are some pros and cons of each?
Marie Sexton
/ June 3, 2011Hi Kioo! Thanks for your question. I love Dreamspinner. I’m very appreciative that they were willing to take a chance on me, and they’ve been very good to me. To some extent, I wanted to send Saints elsewhere simply to set it apart a bit from the Coda series as I’d done with One More Soldier. But mostly, I felt it might be beneficial to get some experience with other publishers. DSP is great. One More Soldier was published by Silver Publishing, and I have nothing but good things to say about them. Amber has been really easy to work with. Song of Oestend, which comes out in August, is with yet another publisher (Total E-Bound), and I adore my editor there. Initially, I hoped broadening my experience would enable me to make an educated decision as to where I’d send my work in the future, but it’s going to be a hard decision. So far, all four of them have been wonderful.
Thanks for your question!
Kelley
/ May 23, 2011I LOVED all the Coda books! One of my favorite parts was in SFD. The part where Cole lets Jon kiss him (at Coles house). I believe that is the most sensuous scene I have ever read. The way Jon takes his time and the reactions from Cole were incredible. I have read it a couple of times and it still gets to me. I just joined your coffee and porn website. LOVE IT!!! Looking forward to your upcoming releases.
Thanks,
Kelley
Marie Sexton
/ May 24, 2011Thanks Kelley! I actually worried people would find that scene boring because it focused so much on kissing. I’m really glad it ended up working the way I’d hoped. Also happy to hear you’re enjoying Coffee and Porn in the Morning. We’re having a lot of fun over there.
Thanks again!

/ February 15, 2011So Marie, as you may or may not know, I make soap and candles – well, I will be involved in a swap of products. The name of the swap is “My favorite person who doesn’t exist” and we need to base our product of the swap on one of our favorite fictional characters. Guess who mine will be based on? Yep, you guessed it – Cole… I’m going to make a Strawberry/Caramel scented soap (cinnamon isn’t skin safe or I’d add that as well) It will be silk infused – What my question to you is – what color should I make this soap? What color best says “this is Cole”? Would it be a Red and white with a brown swirl for the Strawberry/Caramel scent or is there a specific color that you think of when you envision Cole?

This is going to be so much fun, and if I have any extra soaps after the swap I may just keep a few bars and send you some “Cole” soap.
So, I just thought you would be interested in this (or not) LOL
Thanks for the inspiration.
-J
Marie Sexton
/ February 15, 2011OMG, that sounds like so much fun! Thanks for choosing one of my boys!
I’m not sure what color, to be honest. His eyes are hazel, but that doesn’t seem like a very good color for soap. Red does tend to be associated with him now because of the strawberries and the cover art. Your idea of read and white with a streak of caramel sounds…. yummy, actually! LOL.
Jagr9563 (Janel)
/ February 15, 2011When I get it made (this weekend) I will post a picture of it for you. I truly do love Cole. He’s my favorite at the moment.

/ February 15, 2011Ms. Sexton,
I have never been a fan of books written in the first person perspective, but after reading your works, I have fallen irrevocably in love with this style of writing. Who knew all it took was one gifted writer to make me realize how intensely rewarding it is to experience a work written in this perspective?
Looking back, I guess it has always felt safer when I could be omniscient and able to listen in on whatever both characters are thinking or feeling…but, as I have come to realize, when I am privy to the musing of only one character, I can immerse myself in the story in ways that are impossible with the 3rd person perspective. I can experience firsthand all the uncertainty and confusion, the helpless attraction and love that the narrator is struggling through, and these feelings are somehow enhanced by the 1st person narrative. Because I cannot know what the other partner is thinking or feeling, the sense of anticipation, excitement and fear is ever-present as I read. It is as though I am falling in love with the character at the same time as our narrator… and the experience is incredible and powerful, and it moves me to tears sometimes.
After reading Strawberries for Desert (my favorite among all your works so far ^_^) I simply wanted to drop by and say a few words of encouragement and to express my heartfelt thanks for the wonderful books you’ve written. You are among only a handful of authors whose books I will purchase simply because they have your name on it. I hope you will always write mm romances… I hope you will always write in the first person…I hope you will always write, period. Meanwhile I’ll wait here in restless anticipation of your next work.
-Irie
PS… will there be a sequel for Jon and Cole?
Marie Sexton
/ February 15, 2011Irie-
Thanks so much for your comment! As a reader, I’ve always preferred first person for the reasons you mentioned – I like to be able to lose myself in the character, and not have to spread myself too thin with all of the characters involved. That being said, I must confess that my latest two novels (not Coda-related) are in third. It was something of a challenge for me, but hopefully the result is still good. I imagine I’ll keep doing some of each – I still prefer first, but in some cases, third is a bit easier. As for Jon and Cole, I’m honestly not sure yet. My plan was to write at least a short story for them to wrap things up, but at this point, it’s still on the back-burner. I can’t say for sure when I’ll get back to them. You will get to see a bit more of them in Paris A to Z though, which will be released on April 6th. Zach and Angelo are the main characters of that story, but it features all three Coda couples.
Thanks again!

/ January 25, 2011Hi Marie
I was just wondering, now that you’ve finished Between Sinners and Saints, if you’ve started any new projects with original characters, or if thats on the backburner until you complete the storylines of your current characters to your satisfaction?
Best,
Louis

/ January 25, 2011I actually have started something that is completely new. I just reached the 50k word mark, and probably have about another 30k to go, so cross your fingers for me that I can pull it all together. It’s completely different for me in that it’s not contemporary. It’s actually sort of fantasy, sort of old-west, but with a haunted house, and features an artist and a cowboy. And there will be rope being used in fun ways.
Zach and Angelo’s last book will be out in April, and then I really should worry about Cole and Jon’s conclusion. Unfortunately, my muse doesn’t always go where I lead her.
Thanks so much for your messages!
Anna
/ December 29, 2010how is it you got your start of being published with dreamspinner press and all? Is writing for them your full time job, or do you work a second, main job?
Marie Sexton
/ December 29, 2010I used to work. I actually worked at an OB/Gyn clinic for eleven years. In late 2008, my husband told me either stop bitching about my job, or to quit. Since he’s awesome and makes enough money to support me, I opted for the latter. My daughter was due to start kindergarten (which is only half-day) the following year, so the plan was that I would stay home for about a year and a half, until she was in first grade, at which point I’d find another job. I actually wasn’t writing at all at that time, although I read like a fiend, and most people who knew me hypothesized that I’d be bored to tears within weeks. I’m happy to say that they were wrong. Approximately six months after leaving my job at the clinic, I woke up with Matt and Jared in my head. I’d never written anything before (except term papers in college and memos at the office) so I wasn’t really sure I could pull it off, but I sat down and started writing. About a month later, I had Promises, and Dreamspinner was kind enough to take a chance on me and publish it.
So, at this point, I don’t have any other job outside of writing, and I have no plans of finding one. My husband says he’d rather have a happy-writer wife (even if I don’t make much money) than an angrily-employed wife. I knew I married well!!
Thanks for the question!
Anna
/ December 30, 2010Is there going to be a follow up to Strawberries for Dessert? I mean, Cole being a father… I imagine the child’s first word being “darling” or “sweets”… lol
Marie Sexton
/ December 30, 2010Growing up with Cole as a daddy would be interesting, wouldn’t it?
Eventually, I think there will be one more story for Jon and Cole, although it’s not exactly on the radar quite yet.

/ November 16, 2010Hi Marie,
I usually don´t leave comments on websites but in your case I feel like need to do it. You have a steady growing fan base here in GERMANY (because I tell everybody I know that your books are wonderful!). I don´t know how many times I read SfD and I love the characters and their development even more each time. One of my friends has a job like Jonathan and reading it I thought you must know somebody like him, too. My best friend is gay and he introduced me to your books. Since I know him and since reading your books, I know hard it is for gays to live in a world like this. I always tell him that we are living in the 21th century and that gays are accepted as everyone else. Most of the time I believe it (in big cities in Germany you can see m/m e.g. kissing in public) but I feel depressed when I read that gay bulling causes suicides like these days in the US. This is one reason I recommend your books to my friends – you make a difference and hopefully people chance their minds if they are not gayfriendly from the start.
Lots of love from Germany!
Jessica
Marie Sexton
/ November 16, 2010Jessica-
Thanks so much for your comment. Mostly I just write stories that I hope people will enjoy reading, but it does bother me so much that people aren’t allowed to simply love one another. I can’t see how love can ever be wrong, so if there’s any chance of my books changing somebody’s mind, that’s even better.
And thanks for pushing my books on your friends!
Thanks again!
Marie

/ November 1, 2010Hey, it’s been A while since the last time I commented on here. Well, here is the thing, I’ve been reading The Letter Z for times and then while I read that book I also listening to the Taylor swift new song, back to december. And you know what?! The lyric of that song really suitable with jonathan characteristic ( you should listen to it and read the lyric). Everytime I hear that song, it always remind me of him. And actually I make a playlist for your novels. I agree with your playlist (esp. With Savin’ Me by Nickelback) it really sounds like a soundtrack of the stories to me, and it really help me imagine about them as they are really exist and also I added Christina Aguilera’s song “I Am” and also some of Daughtry songs.
And you have no idea how much your writing means to my life. it really help me making decision in my life. Thank you so much!
Anyway, how is the Paris story going?
Marie Sexton
/ November 1, 2010I’ll be sure to check those songs out. Thanks for the info!
The Paris story…
I read through it again the other day. Parts of it, I absolutely love, but it’s missing something. If I an just figure out what, it would help. My plan was to tackle that story next, and I still will, but we just sold our house and now have to find a new one and pack up and move, so that will unfortunately slow things down. I still hope to have it done in the next month or so, which would make it available (probably) late in the spring.
Thanks again!
Vladimir
/ November 8, 2010U’re welcome… And if you have listened to those songs.. Tell me what do you think about them

/ October 27, 2010Marie I like that actor as Jared. I also found a pic that I have been picturing in my mind. Gosh, I just love him! I’ll email it to you

/ October 27, 2010Hiya Marie – thanks for your quick response. I loved the Jared picture, just as I pictured him – Matt’s wasn’t quite what I expected although certainly liked the body!
Marie Sexton
/ October 27, 2010I do picture Matt having more of an easy-going kind of confidence, not quite that ‘aren’t I gorgeous?’ look, but overall, that pic is pretty close. I actually have a collection of Matt-like pictures. Maybe I’ll make a gallery of them (what a yummy idea!).
Heather
/ October 27, 2010I love the idea of a picture gallary, Marie!!! Yummy Idea Indeed!
UKSandy
/ October 26, 2010Marie: Do you have a picture in your mind of Zach/Jared & Matt? I see you have a picture on here for Angelo, just wondered who you visualised for the others.
BTW I absolutely LOVE your books.
Marie Sexton
/ October 26, 2010Thanks Sandy! Glad you’re enjoying them.
I picture Zach almost exactly like the picture on the cover of A to Z, except he has blue eyes. Matt is very, very close to this picture by Michael Breyette (full nudity at end of link, just fyi). For Jared, I did a contest on Goodreads a while ago asking people to send in pictures, and the closest I found was this actor (Jared’s hair is curlier in my mind). And Cole is here. I don’t have anything for Jonathan though. Poor guy.
Marie Sexton
/ October 26, 2010I should add though that I found all of those pictures after I’d written the books. Jaime and Levi are the first characters I’ve had pictures of prior to writing about them.

/ October 3, 2010Between Sinners and Saints…or Touch…whatever you end up finally calling it.
Beta read is DONE and I’ve sent you a Kindle version of my file. It’s got formatting errors, but having the iBook format made reading it a snap.
I’m very impressed with the story. I’ve emailed you some thoughts, particularly regarding the last chapter plus how Jaime is evolving in my head in their HEA. You have a true gift for damaged characters. I can’t wait to see this in print.
Marie Sexton
/ October 3, 2010Thanks Whitney!

/ August 26, 2010Because of the late timing, 2 A.M. my time, I could not attend your guest chat at M/M Romance. I want to ask you how you know about the intimate activities between men to depict them so vividly in your novels. I am blushing when I come to those obligatory parts in your novels before proceeding to savor the romance on other parts!
Marie Sexton
/ August 26, 2010Kensaku – Some of it I know based on the fact that I have had sex with men.
There’s not really TOO much that’s different. The rest I learned either from reading other m/m books, or from asking gay men.
Sorry you missed the chat. Thanks for the question!

Recently, I was feeling a little unsatisfied with the books that I had been reading and having read and really enjoyed all your previous books, I searched your name and was so excited to see that you had a new book: SfD. I loved it! All your characters are just so great, they make you laugh, they make you believe that they are real people! You certainly made my day better!
As for some people not understanding Ang and Zach, I just have to say, that I love them more for their faults, I totally got it! Thank you for sharing all of them with us and I know I will enjoy reading more of your stories.
Marie Sexton
/ August 19, 2010Shelly – Thank you so much for your comment. I’m glad you enjoyed SfD, and I appreciate your comments on Z&A. I know not everybody gets them or approves of the choices they make, but that’s who they are. Their relationship is very different from M&J’s, or J&C’s. It certainly doesn’t mean they love each other any less.
Thanks again!
Whitney Broussard
/ August 19, 2010Thought you might be interested to know that “Jared” got a record deal
Marie Sexton
/ August 19, 2010Oh, is that right? Probably good I never posted his picture here. This is the guy that won the Jared contest on Goodreads. He’s so adorable.
Whitney Broussard
/ August 19, 2010Hey! I know who that guy is!
erika
/ August 13, 2010Ok so I read A to Z today and it was really good. I’m glad I read it and I’m about to read The letter z. I really liked the pic you put up for Angelo.
Felix and Mildmay are beyond words, aren’t they? Sometimes you just want to slap Felix for the things he puts Mildmay through… Tsk tsk…
That’s so awesome that you got to meet Lynn Flewelling. She’s definitely one of my favorite authors. Have you read Shadow’s Return and The White Road? It was so nice to revisit Alec and Seregil. You should also try out Carol Berg’s Flesh and Spirit and it’s sequel Breath and Bone. There’s another M/M fantasy that you might like but I can’t think of the name of it for the life of me. Gahh! lol…
I’m going to have to reread Wraeththu now for real. I haven’t read it in probably 16 yrs or so but I still have the book. I do remember crying. I read the next 2 books after Wraeththu but nothing after that.
Btw, thanks so much for answering. I think that’s pretty damned cool of you.
Marie Sexton
/ August 16, 2010Hi Erika! I’m so glad you liked A to Z. Hopefully you like TLZ as well, although that one does tend to get me in trouble.
Felix and Mildmay – you’re absolutely right. On one hand there’s that desire to see them get together, and on the other hand is the knowledge that Felix would eat Mildmay alive. And not in the good way. I absolutely love their fucked up, co-dependent relationship. I did read Shadows Return, although I haven’t read White Road yet (even though I have a copy of it). I don’t seem to get much reading done these days, but maybe someday I’ll get back to it.
And you’re welcome for the reply. Really, it’s so amazing to me when readers like my work enough to track me down and leave a comment or send an email. It always makes my day, and the very least I can do is reply. I’ve been at a weekend-long festival with very limited internet access for the last few days, so I was a little slower this time.
Thanks again!
Marie

/ August 11, 2010I had read Promises earlier this year and thought it was really, really good. I just finished Strawberries for Dessert and I LOVED it! I had started A to Z on my kindle awhile ago (you know how they let you try it out before you buy it), but I couldn’t get into it. I’m going to have to go buy it now because I’d forgotten how great of a writer you are. Can I just tell you how much I really fell in love with Cole? I, of course, loved Jon too but Cole really just made me want to hug him and try to make him feel better. Not many authors can draw me into a book like that and make me immerse myself in the characters, so thanks! I’m excited to read anything else you write.
FYI, I love the Nightrunner series also, and I’d read Wraeththu when it first came out and totally fell for that book. I’m going to have to dig it up and read it again… it’s around here somewhere. Melusine is excellent also. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one that loves reading a really well written fantasy novel that is M/M based!
Marie Sexton
/ August 11, 2010Thanks Erica! I’m glad you enjoyed Cole and Jon! People tend to be a bit more conflicted on Zach and Angelo’s stories, which is okay of course. I hope you’ll end up liking them too.
I was lucky enough to meet Lynn Flewelling back in May, and she is fabulous! I have mixed feelings about Wraeththu. I don’t think I’ve ever cried so much reading a book as I did reading the first trilogy, which proves that Storm Constantine is an AMAZING writer! But it almost makes me scared to read the rest! And Melusine and The Virtu… I don’t even have words. I would build a shrine to Felix and Mildmay if I thought I could do it without my husband giving me strange looks.
Thanks again!

/ July 26, 2010Are you planning to combine your Coda series into a big volume aka Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City series?
Marie Sexton
/ July 26, 2010I don’t know, actually. That’s probably up to my publisher. It might be nice, though. Most of my family hasn’t read TLZ because they can’t comprehend downloading a book, and the Paris story will probably only be novella length too. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.

/ July 15, 2010Hi Anne! The new story is not tied to Coda. In fact right now, it’s set in Miami (although things like that can always change). Thanks for asking!

/ June 21, 2010hey Marie!
as you know i really loves your novels.. but may i know the name of the guys on Promises cover?
i suppose the guys on the cover are matt and jared right? but unfortunately their faces are not clear enough for me so i can hardly imagine their faces.. hahaa..
while i guess i can easily imagine the faces of angelo and Zach.. since their faces are on the covers
i know i guess this is a ridiculous question.. but i’m dying to know their names so i can search their faces on the internet and i can easily read the novels
thanks
Marie Sexton
/ June 23, 2010Vladim- I’m sorry I did not respond to this post earlier! Somehow I saw your first post but missed this one. Sorry about that!
The truth is, I have no idea who those lovely boys on the cover are. Anne Cain did my cover art, but I think the images all come from stock-photo type sites. Now, I have to admit, while the guys on the cover are nice to look at, they don’t look like the Matt and Jared that live in my head. In my mind, this is Matt (full nudity at the end of that link, so beware!). And Jared? Well, he’s impossible to find. I’ve looked and looked. This is the closest I’ve found so far. But if you find any images out there that you think look like Jared, I’d LOVE to see them.
Vladim
/ June 24, 2010ok, no problem
yea, i guess jared looks on the cover is a little bit bigger than matt. it should be matt whose bigger right?
*especially matt, LOL.. hehe
wow, thanks.. i really like it
i think they’re fit enough… but i’ve found someone like jared but i’ve forgotten where i found it.. pityful
and also i just read the playlist section and love the song of nickelback with the title “savin’ me”. when i hear it, it seems like matt and jared all over my head. do you also have a playlist for ‘The Letter Z’ ?
and once again thank you for the pictures, help me alot
Marie Sexton
/ June 24, 2010I’m glad to hear that somebody looks at the playlists, although I haven’t used them quite as much for the last couple of stories. For The Letter Z, it was basically a matter of reviving some of the A to Z songs. Backfire by Mutemath brings Angelo alive in my head like nothing else. I can’t explain it. The one new song I did use for TLZ was Vegas by Sara Bareilles, for obvious reasons.
Let me know if you find that picture of Jared!
Vladim
/ June 29, 2010sorry for my late reply, i’ve just searched the photo of ‘jared’ that i talked to you, but i’ve found nothing.. aarrgghh… it’s really makes me frustrated.. i guess i have to stick with your ‘jared’ photo, but i’ll tell you again if i found it.
well, about your playlists guess i really glad too that you made that section. you know, for me to make the imagination feels so real, i need one or two songs that suitable with the novels. so thanks for telling me that.
Vladim
/ July 25, 2010Marie!! Look what i’ve found!! you ever gave me the cartoon version of Matt and now i found the real human version, http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5zA9G_HrMvY/S4nQTn5QUNI/AAAAAAAAK-U/lg7QrhJOlO8/s400/4392183318_01c9f6cfb0_o.jpg
do you think he fit in to be matt??
well i still got no another version of jared though…
Marie Sexton
/ July 25, 2010Oh! I like that picture!

/ June 1, 2010Hi Marie
I just wanted to say that I completely adore your writing. I’ve read Promises and just finished A-Z, I will be buying the others very shortly!
I’m a little addicted to m/m so it’s always great to stumble across another great writer and be able to enlarge my collection, I’ve bookmarked this website!

Marie Sexton
/ June 1, 2010Thanks Becky! I hope you like The Letter Z. I’ve made a couple of people mad with that one. Angelo always gets me into trouble!
Strawberries for Dessert will be out this summer, probably in July, and I’m very excited about it. And if you missed it, be sure to check out The Promise.
Thanks again!
Vikki
/ May 15, 2010So I’ve just read the Letter Z and OMG!! I loved it. Just adored it from start to finish.
I LOVE the way that Zach and Angelo work together, like they were just waiting their whole lives to have this amazingly beautiful relationship.
I Totally *heart* Angelo…he really couldnt be anymore squishy if he tried, I just think he’s the greatest. :0)
Thank you for this amazing book, the journey of each character is gripping and I just couldn’t put it down (ok, well close the window – Lol) once I started to read.
I cannot WAIT for the next book.

/ May 15, 2010Thanks so much, Vikki! I’m glad you liked it!

/ May 10, 2010Hi Marie. I’m totally diggin your stories. There is something about them thats made me fall in love with the characters. And they r funny and charming. I’ve been readin hardcore M/M until you. And although I loved it. most of the the time I felt like I needed more dialogue? Your style of writing, really does it for me. Kinda like a half BLT sandwich when you’re kinda hungry, feel me? It hits the spot just right!!!
Ok, now for the real reason I wrote … who is or where did you get the pic of the guy in your “eye candy”, the one with all the tatoos and he’s got his hand wrapped/bandaged, unfortunately blockin the view of his well…. ya know. I think it’s the only pic that doesn’t have the name of the model or website. He’s frackin HOT!!!!! I demand (nicely) to see more of him or tell me where I can find more of him. PLEAZ!!!
BTW, I too have problems accessing your website. Most of the time I cant. I guess today was my lucky day!
Marie Sexton
/ May 10, 2010Hmmm… Where did I get that picture? I’m not sure, to tell you the truth. My first thought is that it must have come from BeautifulMag, and yet, I don’t see the label on the bottom. I’ll have to do some research (darn – a reason to look at pictures of hot men!).
As for the server problems, I wish I could figure that out. If you manage to land back here again, do me a favor. Click here and let me know if you’re able to access that site (it’s run by my good friend and is on the same server).
And I’m really glad that you’re enjoying my books! Don’t forget, The Letter Z comes out the day after tomorrow! I hope you like it!
Marie Sexton
/ May 10, 2010Aha!! His name is Daniel Conn. He is lovely, isn’t he?
cachis
/ May 10, 2010Holy Chet he’s HOT!!!! as well as all the other men in BeautifulMag!
BTW, I just re-read both of your novels so I’m fresh for the new novella, I cant wait! I love Jared and I love Angelo! I guess I love their partners too! Your an awesome author!! I’ve been telling fellow M/M readers about you and they agree!
Ursula
/ April 20, 2010Mary, can’t wait to read Letter Z as well as Cole’s story. In the meantime I have read Promises & A to Z already twice. Incredible storytelling, clever and funny too.
You have a great website. Very well structured. Every once in a while I try to check on your website for news or new short stories. Maybe it is just my internet connection, but I just wanted to let you know that most of the times I am not able to acces your website. If I am able then it is mostly late at night.
Anyway, I am glad I found your books and they will always be an auto-buy going forward
Ursula
Marie Sexton
/ April 20, 2010Ursula – I’m sorry to hear my site isn’t working for you. I wonder why that is? I’m definitely no expert on these things!
I’m glad to hear you’re still enjoying my boys. The Letter Z will (I hope) be out sometime in May. And Strawberries for Dessert is very near completion. Keep checking back here if you’re able. Or, if you’re on Facebook, you can find me there too. I do updates there regularly as well.
Thanks again!
Vikki
/ April 14, 2010I’ve just finished reading Promises and A-Z and WOW, I loved and adored them both
I ADORE Matt, but Angelo has a special place in my heart, he’s a truly beautiful person.
So wonderful, I can’t wait to read more from you.
Marie Sexton
/ April 14, 2010Vikki – Thank you so much. And I can’t tell you how much I needed to hear that today, of all days. I would kiss you if I could!
Vikki
/ April 17, 2010Well, I’m sure i’m too far away for kissing, but have a *hug* instead Lol. xxx

/ March 21, 2010Hi Marie
just finished reading Promises and then A to Z. Whow, what great books they are. Usually I avoid first person narration like the plague, it is just not my cup of tea. But the excerpt from Promises was so intriguing that I bought the book. I am so glad that I did. I could not put the book away until finished. The story was so sweet and Matt & Jared came across so fresh, real and funny. I am glad you did not decide to erase that story for good from your PC. After I got hooked on Promises I immediately started reading A to Z. Loved that book too and also loved to read again in there about Jared & Matt. You are such a talented and great writer. Looking forward to any possible story about Cole.
Have put your website on my favorites link, to keep checking when any new books from you might be available.
Regards Ursula
Marie Sexton
/ March 22, 2010Ursula- I’m so glad you liked both stories. Cole’s story is in the works. No idea when it will be finished but I will definitely keep people posted. Thank you!

/ March 20, 2010Hi Marie
I just read Promises and absolutely loved it! I have been reading M/M for about a year now and I can honestly say that Promises is by far one of the best that I have read, and I have read many. After finishing Promises I jumped on Amazon to see what other books you have written and was very, very excited to see A to Z was just released. I will be ordering that one ASAP. Thank you for the great writing!
Marie Sexton
/ March 20, 2010Thanks so much Jenny! I hope you enjoy A to Z just as much.

/ March 19, 2010Marie,
I found your book on Amazon.com and once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down until I had finished it. This book was amazing. I am looking forward to reading your next one.
Thanks and keep them coming…..
Marie Sexton
/ March 20, 2010BC- Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it!

/ March 17, 2010Thank you for two beautiful stories. I picked up both Promises and A to Z on Amazon Kindle for iPhone and read them this week. I loved Promises, but I absolutely adored A to Z. I must admit that I was so hooked I was reading passages while at work between projects. Your men have so much passion for each other. I have a boyfriend I’m happy with, but the intensity between your characters makes me jealous with envy.
I’m glad to see you have two books in the pipeline. I anxiously await the release.
Thanks again, Marie.
Marie Sexton
/ March 17, 2010Michael, thank you so much! Your comment absolutely made my day. I’m so glad that you enjoyed my stories. And I know exactly what you mean – sometimes I envy my guys too! I think my husband sometimes feels like my imaginary friends have set the bar a little too high. Give your bf a big kiss (or more). I’m sure he deserves it.
Thanks again!

/ March 10, 2010Damn, Marie, if I had a comment or question, looking at that eye candy just drove it out of my head!
I just ordered Promises, can’t wait to read it!

/ March 6, 2010Hi Marie!
I managed to leave comments all over the site, then found this one too:) I absolutely LOVED Promises AND A to Z…read both in one sitting. I found your writing style to be fresh and exciting and in some places wonderfully hilarious. I am amazed by anyone that can grab me into a story within the first three sentences, and both books did just that. I found myself wanting to smack Matt, then Jared, then Zack then Angelo right upside the head(s) and ask them WHAT THE HELL THEY WERE WAITING FOR! When I am invested in a character, I know the book will keep me in its grip til the very end. And, just to let you know, I have transferred BOTH books into my re-read file cause that is where they belong:)

/ March 5, 2010Hello Marie.
Just finished A to Z – read it in one sitting (about 3 hours – forgot to drink water so was very thirsty by the end). Great book, just as wonderful as Promises.
Now, if it is not too much to ask could you release about a book a week so I have at least one great read to look forward to every seven days or so. I could stretch it to 8 days if you need a little more time!
I have a list of authors that I read everything they write (sometimes without even reading the blurb) – you are now permanently on that list.
Many thanks
Megs

/ March 5, 2010Megs-
I’m so glad you liked A to Z! I’ve been terribly nervous about its release. It was great to wake up to a positive comment this morning!
I’m sorry to disappoint you. I’m afraid I can’t quite manage a book every 8 days,
but there is a sequel to A to Z. It’s a novella called The Letter Z, and hopefully Dreamspinner will be interested in publishing it as well.
Thanks again!

/ February 21, 2010Marie,
I just finished reading Promises for the second time — what a great book. I too am a fan of fantasy novels and only recently got into M/M books. I have never, ever read a book over again immediately after finishing it (and I read a lot of books). I read Promises in one night and absolutely loved it! The next day, I turned back to the beginning of the book, to read something in the first chapter (I wanted to clarify something I could not remember) and before I knew it, I had read the entire book a second time. The characters in Promises all seemed like real people to me and not just characters in a book. I just wanted to say “thank you” for sharing your creation with us and I can’t wait to read A to Z. With one novel you have jumped onto my small list of authors whose books are on my “automatic buy” list.
Marie Sexton
/ February 21, 2010Will – Thank you so much! I’m truly flattered. Matt and Jared seem very real to me too, and I’m glad it carried over onto the page. I hope they haven’t set the bar too high for Zach and Angelo!
Thanks again!

/ January 23, 2010marie, I stayed up till 2:30 am reading Promises!!!! It’s a fantastic book! I absolutely loved it! You’re a great writer!

/ January 12, 2010Hello Marie.
Well done! Promises was a fantastic read. Read it in one sitting. It has been so long since I have read an m/m of this standard. Excellent pacing, character development, great humour and flow from one scene to another that did not make me go “now that’s a jump in reality”.
Your book now sits next to Jane Seville’s Zero at the Bone and Sean Kennedy’s Tigers and Devils in my computers bookshelf.
Thank you
Megs
Beuatifully crafted, please keep writing.
Marie Sexton
/ January 12, 2010Meg – Thanks so much for your comment. I myself am not sure I deserve to be sitting next to Jane and Sean, but I’m sure glad you think so!
Marie
/ January 8, 2010V- You’re officially the first person I’ve heard from who I don’t know IRL. You have no idea how excited that makes me!! Thanks so much for buying Promises, and I’m glad you enjoyed it. I hope you’ll check out A to Z when it comes out in the spring.

/ January 8, 2010ive baught your ebook version of promise just last night and finished it today..loved the book! and the character development with matt and jared!
